Step 4 – Use High Quality Fats

This part 3 of my video series, Switch Over to a Real Food Lifestyle in 10 Easy Steps. You can view the introduction video here, step 1 here, step 2 here, and step 3 here. Don’t forget that you can buy your own copy of How to Switch Over to a Real Food Lifestyle in 10 Easy Steps  and follow along while we take this journey (it’s only $4.99).

Step 4- Use High Quality Fats

So, we’ve learned that industrialized oils like corn, soy, canola and vegetable are terrible for our health but now we need to know what to replace them with. High quality fats that I use in my kitchen are butter, lard, olive oil, tallow and coconut oil. In the video, we talk all about fats and why I use them. Plus, I briefly explain which fats I like to use and for what. (I’m sorry this one is a little lengthy!)

Your Challenge

This one may be a bit trickier because you may have to do a little digging to find pastured animal products but I have faith in you. Make sure you check out my shopping guide which gives you names of brands I use and trust along with helpful links to guide you in finding local farmers in your area.

I’d love to hear which fat you chose and why, as well as what you used your new fat for cooking with.
